Declarations of Power for 365 Days of the Year

“In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.” (Mark 3:27a)

The way to weaken the power of the enemy in any battle is by binding the strong man first. Once he is bound, his house can be plundered. Those people, who learn these practical, spiritual, principles and put them into action, will have victory over Satan; and he knows it. You need to understand that binding the strong man does not mean we are removing all evil from the world. We know that Jesus Christ is the One who will do this. However, when we unmask him, we remove the bad influences from our lives, our families, our businesses, our finances, our cities and our nations.
Jesus said, “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19). We open the Kingdom of Heaven by the word of authority that God has placed on our lips. Using this same authority, we should bind the powers of the enemy. The adversary operates in the spiritual realm, and all that we bind in the spiritual atmosphere is also bound here on earth. That is how Paul neutralized the demonic powers that wanted to prevent the proconsul from hearing the Word of God, and because of Paul’s intercession, the proconsul had a true conversion (Acts 13:7-12). That is what we also need to do. Someone once asked an English General who was known for his victories in the battlefield, “General, who has the option of winning?” This man responded, “He who advances.”

One day, during the beginning years of my Christian life, I was praying for one of my brothers who was the most rebellious and least interested in the things of God. In the middle of my time of prayer, I had a vision and I saw the flames of hell, and that my brother was there. I was terrified when I saw that scene, and decided to pray fervently for his salvation. The first thing I did was to bind the strong man and all of those demonic powers that had control over his mind, emotions, and will. I remained steadfast by praying for ten days. After this period of intercession, my brother came to ask for help on how to change because he did not know how to do it. I gave thanks to the Lord in my heart, because I understood the effectiveness in binding the strong man. Out of all my brothers, he has been the one who experienced the most radical transformation in his life.

Dear Father, I thank You for the authority that You gave me to bind the strong man and to evict him from each area of my life and of the lives of my family members. Thank You God, because it is through the revelation of Your powerful Word that I receive it. Amen.

“I have the authority to open the heavens with the word of my lips. I can neutralize all the evil forces of the enemy, and set free those who are oppressed by him.”
